Audio transcript of video with Bryan Pearson, President & CEO, LoyaltyOne

LoyaltyOne has been a partner of Kids Help Phone since 1997. We initially started by donating miles to Kids Help Phone, and then proceeded to get our associates more and more involved by participating in a walk, and then continuing to build on our donations over time to support the cause.

At LoyaltyOne we love the idea of Kids Help Phone because it speaks to one of our most important customer segments, broadly across Canada, and families are an important part of our air miles collector base. So anything we can do which will help support marginalized youth, empowering them to lead better, healthier lives is important. And for us, the idea that basic mental health would be an important part of what would be met, and I think Kids Help Phone does a great job of supporting that across this country.

Our current focus is really on Indigenous youth, I think we are really thrilled to be supporting Kids Help Phone as they work to improve their service so that it is relevant, equitable, and accessible to all Indigenous youth across Canada. Last year we supported the development of an action plan for supporting First Nations, Inuit, and Metis young people. And that plan was developed under the leadership of their Indigenous advisory council, and I think we’re very proud, because this kind of collaborative effort provided the opportunity to support a program which helped reduce and remove barriers to access for this very important group of people.
