2018 was monumental, live chat became available 24/7, and we launched a nation-wide texting service. As a member of the national youth council, I am proud to share that we now have youth representation on our board of directors. And that helps ensure that our voices are heard, and that our expertise drives innovation, and it’s helping more youth access Kids Help Phone Services. As a young person, I know that it can be really difficult to reach out for help. And Those barriers that are in place, they can result in young people taking their lives, because they can’t get help, or reach help, or feel that they can share with anyone what they’re going through. This year, all 25 of Nunavut’s communities have gained access to cell-service for the first time. This is really wonderful because it means that kids who have never been able to reach out to Kids Help Phone are finally able to get help, and were saving more lives.
